Marketing Leader

Nova Pioneer Academies is looking for a superstar Marketing Strategy Leader to lead the design and roll-out of marketing efforts across our school network in South Africa. This is an opportunity to create a transformative brand with the future of Africa’s youth at stake.

As the Marketing Strategy Lead for South Africa, you will have the opportunity to craft a strategic marketing and student recruitment vision from the ground up, and you will be responsible for codifying an innovative, cost-efficient approach to marketing that can be scaled to more than 20+ schools across Southern Africa in the next 5 years. 

Your key responsibilities will be:

Business Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing & recruitment strategy across our network of schools
  • Continuously analyze the local education market to identify (and be able to quickly act on) opportunities to adjust Nova Pioneer's strategy
  • Drive strategic projects throughout the marketing function that will enable Nova Pioneer to optimize its admissions process, lead generation approach, and internal effectiveness

Team Leadership & Coaching

  • Lead and grow the entire marketing and admissions team across Southern Africa
  • Develop and train a multi-cultural team of marketing and admissions professionals to execute consistent and compelling strategies to achieve our marketing vision

Creative Marketing Content Creation

  • Design and lead advertising strategies and rhythms through traditional and digital channels 
  • Develop and implement our communications and PR strategy to generate positive word of mouth and prominent media coverage 
  • Ensure consistency and quality of positioning and messaging across all materials and marketing activities

Data-Driven Systems Building

  • Develop methodologies to meticulously track ROI of our marketing initiatives and activations and make data-driven decisions to positively impact brand and enrollment 
  • Design and iterate our systems and processes to ensure that we're operating efficiently and capturing actionable customer data


  • You have at least 5 years of experience building and managing important relationships in marketing/communications or consulting/business development positions.
  • You have a 4‐year Bachelor’s degree (required) and an MBA (highly valued)
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset - startup experience preferred! This is a demanding role where you'll be required to create order from chaos. You must be ready to put in the time it takes to build your vision. 
  • You have led teams and coached individuals to achieve results. People love working with you and for you! 
  • You are a great communicator: You are able to provide a clear and persuasive pitch to anyone and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You are results driven: You are goal oriented, move fast and take ownership of work.
  • You have strong project management skills: You are able to juggle multiple tasks, provide support to junior level staff and meet deadlines and targets. 
  • You are passionate about providing excellent education at an affordable price even if you haven’t worked in education before.
